American Tribal Style bellydance is a form of Middle Eastern inspired dance with a healthy dose of jazz and modern dance to create a unified and strong stage presence with the exotic feel of tribal performers of the Middle East and Africa. Performed in groups, the style is largely improvisational.

Fusion is a style of bellydance where traditional bellydance moves and methods are blended with other styles such as hip-hop, flamenco, indian, and others to create a fresh presentation.

Samsara is a sanscrit word that roughly translates into "the cycle of rebirth".  Sometimes expressed as "flow of movement" it describes the smooth flowing moves of the dance styles we explore as well as the personal journeys we all individually are experiencing as we dance together.

Samsara will be taking engagements starting in August 2009.  We will be available for:

• Festivals
• Weddings
• Private Parties of 30 or more
  
• Corporate picnics and events
• Music and Dance concerts
• School demonstrations
• Product launches
• Restaurants
•  Community events

• Samsara can perform at your event in the following ways:
  • Individual dancers (minimum two dancers required) will perform for $50 per dancer for a 15-minute set.  Multiple sets may be arranged.
  • Troupe rates are $250 for 20 minute set.  Multiple sets may be arranged.
    
• All engagements include a $0.50 per mile (starting at Open Circle Studio) transportation fee for locations outside of the city of Richmond, KY.  Engagements that require overnight accommodations will be negotiated at the time of contract.

• All engagements must be made a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.

• The only scheduled performance is a signed contracted performance.  All engagements must be paid 50% in advance at the time of contract. The remaining amount is due the day of the event prior to performance.  If the venue cancels within the 48 hour period prior of the engagement, the advance payment is forfeit. If cancellation occurs at the venue site or during transportation, the venue is liable for the total contracted fee.

• The venue must cover all music licensing, stage, sound, and lighting arrangements and other similar details in relation to Samsara's performance unless otherwise stated in the signed contract.

• If Samara feels that they are in any way in danger or uncomfortable with the venue, they reserve the right to leave without performing.  If such an event should occur, the venue is still liable for the remaining performance fees due at the time of departure.

Yes, really.  Samsara is made up of professionally-trained athlete dance performers in a difficult to find style of dance.  Not only is training expensive, but the unique and rich costuming is either custom hand-made or imported from literally half-way around the world.  There may be individuals who may charge less, but you will find in this business, you get what you pay for.
