Most classes run approximately 60 minutes unless otherwise indicated by the instructor.

Basic Self Defense and Tae-robics run 30 minutes.

 

Class Descriptions:

Basic Self-Defense - an introduction and active drill course on personal safety awareness,  conflict avoidance, and basic martial art procedures to help ensure your personal safety.  Class will include martial art instruction. Students are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing. Class will last 30 minutes

$5 drop-in rate / $10 for both Self -Defense and Tae-robics combined.


 Beginning Meditation (Next session To be Announced) - Mindfullness mediation is a powerful tool for awakening the heart, healing the body, and relieving the heavy burdens of the mind. All members of our community, from the curious to the dedicated, are welcome to join in this ancient art.

$10 drop-in rate / $45 for 5 classes

Continuing Meditation (11/30-12/21)

A Continuation and expansion of the principles learned in Beginning Meditation.

$10 drop-in rate / $45 for 5 classes


Belly Burn - a full movement dance class using bellydance moves to get you moving and give you a workout. 

Dancers will warm up using yoga techniques and then work through several types of high energy drills to develop muscle memory and stamina.  Dancers are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing

.$12 drop-in / $65 for 6 classes


Bellydance Basics - This is a "technique" class designed to allow the dancer to gain a deep understanding of the fundamental movements that make up the "bellydance" style.

In this class, dancers will cover basic movements and their positioning, bio-mechanics, balance and follow throughs. 

Also included will be cultural and historial information about the different kinds of bellydance and how they may have developed.

This is an excellent class for beginners as it breaks down each move thoroughly, allowing the individual dancer to become fully ingrained in the dance form before exploring more involved bellydance styles.

Recommended clothing is a comfortable top and loose flowing skirt or yoga pants.

Hatha Yoga - Hatha Yoga is what most people in the West associate with the word "yoga", including physical exercises (postures and breath control) and meditation, and is practiced for mental and physical health.

$12 drop-in / $50 for 5 / $80 for 10


Introduction to Tribal Bellydance - This class starts the student out in American Tribal Style Bellydance, a group-dynamics style of bellydance that encorporates traditional bellydance with aspects of modern dance and jazz to create a whole new look and feel that projects a strong and proud tribal image. 

$12 drop-in / $50 for 5 classes


Jazz and Modern Ballet - A beginning to intermediate class where students will learn technique and a short combination using the knowledge that has been built up during the session.  Students will also learn about some of the history of the dances.

$12 drop-in/ $50 for 5 classes


Low-Impact Yoga - This specialized yoga class is designed for the individual who has trouble with the standard yoga format. 

The slow-paced structure combined with modified positions allows for exploration of the exercise while eliminating stress on abdominal areas as well as helping address flexibility. 

Use of props will be frequent to make the positions more attainable for beginners.

Required props include: 4 X 6 Yoga blocks (at least one), sticky floor mat, a large towel or 3X5 ft. cotton blanket, a yoga strap or equivalent thereof.  Suggested also is a large exercise ball (not a medicine ball). 

$12 drop-in / $50 for 5 classes


Salsa and Swing - A beginning dance class covering bother the basic Salsa and basic Swing styles in which Students will learn basic steps and combinations as well as background and history of the dance.

$12 drop-in / $50 for 5 classes


Tae-robics - A high energy workout using martial arts moves and drills to modern rock music to keep the blood pumping and your feet moving.  Class will include martial art instruction.  

Students are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing.  Class will last 30 minutes

$5 drop-in rate / $10 for both Self -Defense and Tae-robics combined.
